As mentioned above, the V2 uses 2 small shims behind the first slipper plate. I've only had to shim one of my older cars though. The shaft where the adjustment is, is only threaded down so far, by putting a small spacer or some washers on before the locknut, it will allow it to be tightened more. Even with AE pads, I run a small spacer before the locknut and once mine was adjusted properly I haven't had to mess with it.
The last time I rebuilt my DEST210 I did what it says in the V2 manual and put one on either side of the spring and two before the first slipper plate. Works great.
