Why would an amateur weekend warrior want to come to an event to run against guys that are competing at a very high level in mod yet also they get to run in 17.5 and you would have to compete with them. Makes zero sense.
Makes zero sense to me why a person in a competition wouldn't want to race against the best possible. 17.5 blinky does not equal beginner or weekend warrior and this wasn't some club race.
