The guy I deal with at a LHS in Edmonton has got me very interested in the mini class as an entry into carpet racing, and he told me just to go with the silver can motor for now until a decision gets made on what the new spec motor will be.

I just purchased the M05 v2 and I'm really excited to build it and test the carpet waters - there's been a ton of really awesome insight into setups in this thread, and much to the dismay of my wife, I spent the majority of my weekend reading and writing down notes. There's a ton of great stuff in here!
