Its fact that the closer the Spur and pinion are in size the more top end your car will have. Higher FDR = more torque and Lower FDR = top end. Its fact not something I came up with on my own.

Larger spure equals quicker acceleration Smaller spur gear equals more top end!
Back in the day with RM I was fighting excessive wheel spin coming out of the corners and a guy said to put a larger spur gear on it, didn't do anything with gearing it moved the motor back giving more traction!!!
I stand corrected and will adjust my knowledge base accordingly!
Maybe that's why we run the smallest spur we can get our hands on in oval!
