Been at the german nats and talking to the cars developer about the gear diff. He recommended to use all shims according to the manual(V3 Diff). But you can use a slightly thicker shim which covers the outdrive seal (the big diameter shim). It should be 0,2mm thickness in the kit but he said you can use 0,3mm to be sure.
