Pistons - can say having watched the buggies and truggies with the 1.5 pistons, they are definately super smooth. Having finally built a set for myself it seems that these shocks really like them and they feel really smooth. Also even with the holes as large as they are, they still provide good pack. As for the CST oils, they tend to have more linear adjustments for weight, but could also just be the oils everyone is using. Quick glance at the oils available, AE and Losi are the last still using the WT system, all other oils are CST, AE lists the CST equiv. on the bottles. If you look at the CST on the AE bottles you will see that a weight of +-2.5 weight doesn't always equal 50 cst...and a diff of +-5 wt doesn't equal 100..
