If I were you, I would build the truck 100% stock and follow the manual directions exclusively and then tune from there. Theres a reason its the stock set up, its a good neutral starting point for everyone no matter what the driving style. You can get a setup sheet from your buddy but maybe hes heavy on the throttle and likes to drift turns and maybe you are smoother, in which case your setups would be completely different in most cases so, start with stock and then go from there, feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
