The only way these shocks are going to rival properly built Kyosho's is with the delrin bushings, nitride coated shafts, and the Losi X-ring setup. I haven't done it, but a friend of mine is soon enough so we will know.
I have been running these tekno shocks with the nitride shafts since i bought the kit, and now delrin inserts. can compare back to back runs (with my brothers) mp9. same track, same day, same conditions. Will say the tekno shocks impress above and beyond what a kit of this price range should
