On the top deck. A bit forward from mid point. You will see a hole on the deck. At the beginning, you might not need the tensioner but as the belt loosens up, you might need it (In response to Phoenix82's comment) if you run faster classes. W/ 17.5T class, I don't run tensioner. But since you have it, you might as well use it
