I have seen varying opinions on the pinion size from 19 to 23. If anyone is running on a track like what I run on can you let me know what size you are using.
i'm running an Orion 6.5 on a track very similar to what you describe and I have used a 22 tooth pinion with good results. One day when it was about 100 degrees the motor got up to 158 or so, but haven't seen higher than that.
