had a fun day today doing some group running a track part of guys house. Low turn out of guys who like to race, but a group of them who regularly travel to the larger races in MN .
The conditions were black dirt, that when watered I would say offers about medium level traction. As it dries out it goes to dust. Tires like a Blockade work quite well. Didn't have any for my 1/8 scale but settled on AKA I-Beams in soft compound and htye worked quite well.
Track was small enough that on my Tekin 1900Kv motor I was down to a 14T pinion and that felt really good.
with the setup I am using, I round that I needed a bit more bite so I decided to move the shocks in 1 position on the tower and that felt really good.
I am thinking though going to 6 hole 1.5mm pistons as well as on my SCT410 they just seem to soak stuff up better than a 1.3 x 8 hole setup. I think that last bit will help with the bit of jittery feeling at times I would get. In general was good, just once in a while didn't feel as confident as I wanted it to. And the PRCP Track is much more bumpy so wanting to get that smooth glide feel. If anyone has tips, let me know. Can post my full setup if that helps.
Damage for the day was the original ackerman plate that the EB48s came with, finally broke so I put on the upgraded version. I also managed to snap a CVD as the outdrive wore enough I believe to cause it to bind. Will throw in some spares I have.
All in all a good day, believe I may have put down the fastest lap time in both 1/8 E buggy and 1/10 SCT, though small group, good group, had a blast.
