Every other platform they've built they have released in "R" spec. That being said I do believe that those R cars of the past were not the best value and or they were released so late in the platform life that they didn't offer too many benefits. I am thinking about getting a new chassis though for next year and an R would do nicely as my T3'10 is getting a bit too sloppy now.
Exactly many are in the same boat. They have been driving old Xray cars forever. Give them a reason to spend a little more for a new Spec R of the latest Xray chassis design. I know many that would love to try an Xray but not for a $500 dollar bill. Instead they recycle. I think most can agree people want Xray for quality, but simply can't afford one. At least give them a chance feel the difference. lol Or better yet a purpose built VTA SpecR.
