Well raced my new usgt car in a local parking lot race at a hobby shop, had the smallest motor there and not enough gear but still made the a main and finished 4th out of 5 with the car so it handles pretty good! Still have a bit of push i have to work out but pretty good for the 1st outing. they had 5 cars in the b main also. You said your car had a push, so why do you need MORE grip?
We have run the Spec tires on parking lots and find them to be very good. In fact, a few 17.5 drivers are thinking of trying the Spec tire, based on how well the hold up for the USGT drivers and the lower cost.
Try adjusting your set-up or your tire prep to find the balance you need.
