If there was a little more clearance between the bottom of the brace and the steering rack you could use a buttonhead and a wide washer to beef it up. Maybe raise the front of the brace with shims, just enough to washer the post. Or take a broken one and fab a brace on top.
My initial thought was to use a piece of the broken deck to make a brace but I like idea of using a washer to beef it up a bit. Thanks.
