I had the exact same problem on the weekend... Losi bell, washer and correct bearings...

The solution was to file down the base if the collet which moved the whole fly wheel closer to the front bearing and the end if the crank shaft closer to the face of the bearing.

Had my mate and I scratching our heads for a bit, but turned out to be an easy solution.
