Depending on what tires you have it is not Always mandatory
BSR come trued at 60MM what a great diameter is for outdoor tracks.
On carpet it is a whole other story
If you want your tires to last, use every heat a different set.
This because if you use tire fluid, the tires become so soft that they chunk if you use them more then once a day.
For maintenance for the tires, clean them after a race day with Dreft(if they sell it where you live) and low warm water.
Rub the soapy water good in the tires and then wrinse them with clean water.
Let them dry without heat and store them in sealed plastic bags or in Pringles containers.
If will keep your tires perfect.
