Pit lane does avoid the first hairpin. But can you make it in and out before the car on power going to hairpin?
NO you cannot make up time. We have tried it to see with electric cars.
It cant be done faster than the race line. Unless you are the best pit road racer in the nation. There will be a discussion in the drivers meeting about intentional pit road short cuts. But again it wont make up time.
