Somehow my quick search didn't lead me to that spec page, where it clearly shows motor limits. Question essentially answered.
The reason I think the motor is about to blow is because it now gets extremely hot compared to when the truck was new. How hot? Well, hot enough that it would burn your skin if you held your finger up to it for longer than two seconds. I do not remember it getting this hot when I first started running this truck. A friend had the same think happen to his stock Reedy motor in his 2WD SC10 and eventually the motor just quit. I figured maybe this just happens with the 'base model' motors. The ESC temp seems ok, even under the chassis cover. The ESC heat sink is hot, but you can keep your finger against it forever - if you had time...
So if I were going to try and solve the heating issue with this motor, I would gear it down by going to a smaller pinion?
Any motor recommendations for this ESC?
