I dont think its normal. I've noticed that inner surface of clutchbell is not smooth at all, its very like damaged brake disc surface on fullscale car - grooved, ribbed and so. Maybe i need to replace my clutchbell instead of new set of shoes per every run?
Go to your local hardware store and pick up some Muriatic acid. Use a Qtip to apply it to the inside of your clutch bell. It will eat away the Aluminum. When its all clean, spray it out with either nitro spray or brake cleaner. It will look like new.
