To get a Futaba servo to fit you only have to clip off the little tip on the side. A pair of stips works great. I have used futaba in a airtronics, a hitec, and a Kopropo receiver and they all work with it.
So don;t let that be the desiding factor.
Also if you are new and have not ever raced before try a cheaper alternative like the Hitec 645 MG which I use to use until I found the Futaba. The 645 is about $40.00 at your LHS, and they seem to be the standard of regular weekend racers. I say save for a great battery or motor. The servos mentioned here are for regular racers who want the very best but all of us can tell you, "if you arent; going to race very often save your cash and get a reasonable servo".
Just my two pennies but it sounds like you have never raced a RC car before. If this is true there are many more important things to worry about.
Hope this helps,
