The Tamiya black is pretty unique compared to the other coatings. It looks like a trivalent zinc chromate, hence the lack of color density and the heavy "rainbow" affect. That alone is usually enough for me to tell!

The bottom mystery spring is wound in the direction of the new Tamiya springs. All the new Tamiya springs use 1.5mm wire (per Tamiya) and vary the coil count to change the rate. Mine check out to confirm this. The most likely candidate is a Ride spring.
