Let's talk air filters. I like the braking system on the NB48 and how well it performs, but the tolerances are pretty high. Between the brake, throttle, and the air filter getting in the way, there isn't much room for give/take. 1mm plus/minus in all directions maybe it seems.

I'm on my second plastic air filter since the screws keep stripping as the pre-filter keeps catching on the linkage. I was fortunate enough that as it popped off last weekend it didn't go WOT. At $12 a pop, these are going to be more costly than bearings and glowplugs combined.

Am I doing something wrong or is there another part that works better? Love the buggy, no so fond of this combo setup at this point. To be honest, this is the only downside of the buggy I've been able to find. I tore it down again this week and all my initial diff leaks (rear and center) were fixed via the diff sanding technique. Everything else is still in great shape and going strong.
I think I see what you're talking about (please post a pic though). Make sure the set screws on the linkage are not pointing straight up. Rotate the link so they are to the side but still accessible, then they shouldn't catch on anything. Does this make sense or am I missing the issue?
