I bought a Surface to use with my DCD. When the original software didn't work with W8, I emailed them and they quickly sent me a link to a beta of SW that worked perfectly with W8. I have had nothing but success with contacting them. As long as you are using the system for practice, and not trying to run a club race with it I can't see how anyone couldn't be impressed.
