[QUOTE=Rick Hohwart;13279570]If you are a racer, you would have received an email regarding parking and some other items. I will post it here so that spectators will have a sense of what to expect:
[I] It is time for the race we have all been waiting for. The return of the Reedy Race of Champions to the Tamiya America Raceway. As we prepare for this week, I wanted to give everyone some information that will help make your experience at the Reedy Race the best possible.
We will be having registration and checkin and tire handout available on Wednesday May 21 from 3-6pm. This will allow us to take care of a majority of the check so that Thursday morning racers can concentrate on getting their pits setup. We will also be doing check in and handout tires on Thursday morning, but we want to try and get as much done on Wednesday to ease things for all of us. PLEASE BRING YOUR TRANSPONDER NUMBER WITH YOU AT CHECK IN. There will be no pre saving of pit spaces on Wednesday. Only sponsors and invitational drivers will have pre assigned pit spaces. Any articles left on pit spaces will be collected by the Reedy Race Staff. Pit tables and chairs and electricity will be provided for all racers. You will need to bring your own POWER STRIP for your pit space. These will not be provided.

Tires:
The official handout tire of the 2014 Reedy Race is the Sweep EXP. We have ensured that all the tires we will use for the Reedy Race are all from the same batch. This means the practice tires as well as the race tires were all produced at the same time and from the same batch. Tires will be available starting on Wednesday at 3pm. 13.5 and Modified racers will be able to get as many tires as they would like for practice. For racing a maximum of 4 sets will be allowed. All tires used for racing and practice seeding heats must be purchased at the event and are available for $30.
Facility:
We are honored to be allowed to return to what is one of the premier race facilities in the USA and we expect all racers to treat the facility with respect. We will have trash receptacles located around the track and we expect everyone take care of the area to ensure we leave it as clean as it was when we arrived.
Parking:
The parking situation at the Tamiya America Raceway has been the challenging reason we have not been able to return to the track over the past few years. We have worked out a solution, but it is imperative that everyone follows the guidelines we have laid out to ensure a smooth event and allow us the opportunity to return to the Tamiya Raceway in the future.
Below are the parking guidelines everyone is expected to follow.
I have attached an aerial view of the Tamiya America track facility. The photo is your reference of where you may and may NOT park. We ask everyone strictly observe where parking is allowed and not allowed.
Parking Area 1:
Raceway Parking Lot. We have laid out a temporary CMB parking area next to the open pit area. Please enter through ramp A and exit through ramp B. Park in the designated spots. Please enter the lot with care. We want to keep dust to a bare minimum.
Parking Area 2:
Orion street parking. There is Limited Street parking on Orion leading up to the Tamiya race facility. Pay close attention of the No-Parking red curbing and fire hydrants. You will be towed if you do not pay attention to where you park on Orion.
Parking Area 3:
Pursuit street parking. There is ample street parking on Pursuit. Pursuit is located directly above Orion and it’s the street above the school adjacent to the Tamiya Circuit. Please observe any parking limitations. If you park on Pursuit it’s less than 3 minutes to walk to the Tamiya Circuit.
Please be aware of the following:
There is no parking in the Astronic parking lot, which is the former Tamiya building and parking lot. Astronic is a military contractor whose employees work into the weekend frequently. The building manager will call the police if he sees us using their parking.
There is no parking at Pepsi or the Church/School.
There is absolutely no parking in the driveway leading up to the Tamiya circuit and the Astronic warehouse. Semi trucks, Fed EX and UPS are constantly entering and exiting.
I have attached a Google Map image of the Tamiya facility and surrounding area. The yellow dots are where you’re allowed to park.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding regarding our parking options. It’s really important we do not create excessive noise while we park in consideration of our neighbors
Thank you Rick. Good luck to associated this weekend
