Soft and super soft are what they say. Clay tires are a a little different some brands seem a lot softer than others like HB & Panther pink seems more like a super soft to me. JC Gold & PL MC feels a lot harder.
I have found that the clay tire compound really only works on a wetter track with good grip.
Where I race the clay tires either work really well or not at all.
Sorry for all the posts in a row but I have done a lot of tire testing the last few years. That may have something to do with me being broke
I agree, the PL MC and JC Gold seem pretty hard compared to Pink Panther
and HB. I've been meaning to try some soft and super soft tires as all my tires are currently clay or gold or MC etc. My two tracks are currently OCRC and SCVRC though both of which are mostly clay. Seems like OCRC my clay tires don't' hook up all that well...
