1) apex has a pretty good reputation
2) re: aluminum servo mount. I would email apex if it is the yokomo floating mount or a third party brand.
3) 90 or 92 spur is a good starting spur gear for 17.5
4) DCJs, front gear diff, and silver springs are nice tuning parts.
