No. Run the red wire of the ESC connector to the + of the BEC and the black wire of the ESC to the - of the BEC. Then adjust the output voltage to whatever you need for your lights. Skip the middle wire on the Y.
Like this? That was my first thought but unless I'm misunderstanding their diagram below, Castle says different when using a series setup.....
Single: Shows to wire it up to the ESC + and -
Series: Shows to wire it up to the Lipos + and -
