It saves an additional two grams and reduces friction in the transmission by 50%. That is what im told anyways. Ive heard people using both the eliminator and the cuts gears and not having any problems. However if you newer to offroad and dont know much about slippers/diffs ill stick with the avid until I get it figured out.
