They include all 4 pieces in plastic and throw in the very front piece in aluminum for durability.
Use the plastic front or aluminum front, your choice.
I don't really see anything wrong but the pics are dark so not sure if you've assembled it correctly.

Loosen the two screws in the front piece to loosen up the whole assembly and then try to install it on the chassis. Then snug it up.
