Seems like you should not have any problems making 7 minutes. Could be the batteries ... maybe try to borrow one from a friend to see if that is the issue. How is the drivetrain? Have you gone through it to make sure there is no excessive drag? Seen a tight belt cause run-time issues before. How is the motor temp at the end of the run?
Just for comparison I run my truck at 2608.2g (5.75lbs) with an RX8 and Pro4-4600. Using either my Reedy 4000 shorties or HVR 4000 shorties I have no issues running our 8 minute mains with extra laps before and after. The batteries typically take under 3200mA on recharge. Our track is not all that big, perhaps 80x60 now and is loose. When I practice I tend to go to 11 minutes before lipo cutoff.
