Can do but I drilled a 1/8th hole through the top of the front brace and the same hole in the splash guard and just loosely secure it there.
Been running like that for months now as I broke the front tab off on the 1st run with a new tank after I spilt the bottom on my kit tank.
So in my mind it's all go to do with the mounting of the tank at the front as I have had no further issues at all.
