I seem to remember taking one apart out of curiosity, and being able to get it back together again without too much trouble. But I don't remember the details.

Are you sure it's not just that the insert came out? They're designed so that there's an adapter insert that goes between the saver and the servo to adapt it for the different spline counts on different servo brands. That should be easy to just pop in and out.

If you can see the spring, though.... oops.
