I allways mount the transponder in the foam bumper, when i oval raced. It just seem smart to me becuase that is the best place for it, plus i looked at everyones car that i was in comp with, they would have it mid to rear on the car. I allways thought that was not a smart place to put it. But some use the Transponder as ballast. So i can see why they would mount it where they did. But I think the front is the best place.
