What motor are you running? I soldered mine up to my b44.2 last night with a reedy 6.5 and no fan on the ESC. Gearing was 19/81 and it was up to 130 external temp within 3 minutes. Oddly the data logs showed it only peaked at 115 during the run. Not sure which to go by. In any case you should be fine. Silicone insulation is very high temp resistant and if your ESC gets that hot you have other things to worry about. I would however leave a small gap between the wires and the heat sink so the insulation does not rub against the ESC. The RSX heat sink has some sharp edges that might wear through/ cut through the insulation if the wires are directly on top of it.

Question for Randy. Would you recommend the fan on my setup above or should I be fine without it. Only concerned due to vertical space in the chassis under the upper deck.

Second, would there be an issue with trimming one of the ears off the solder post so I can mount the wires a few mm lower?

Thanks in advance!

Let me say this though, in my B44.2 it was unbelievably smooth and the brakes are as strong as you could want when fully turned up. Just for curiosity's sake I installed it in my 17.5 b4.2 and it was again super smooth and powerful. Interestingly it weighed less than the R10 Pro that is currently in it (I thought it would be slightly heavier but not the case). Easily on par or better than other ESC's I currently have in my stable. I love all the on-board features like data logging and temp/sensor check. This ESC is definitely inline with all of Tekin's other products in that it is cutting edge, quality, and easy to use. Not to mention its looks extremely trick in whatever vehicle you put it in.
