In addition to the differences Cain mentioned,
There's a big difference between the two when it come to wrenching as well. The Tekno is a 1/8 layout so its open and easy to wrench on.
The AE is a very unique chassis that takes more time to get to the diffs so your teardown time (or tuning change) is longer.
Both are durable as far as plastics and running into things but the Tekno's driveline is much more durable. Again, 1/8... built to deal with a more powerful motor than what is run in the SCT class.
