I would suggest removing the rear pod bulkheads and checking them on a flat surface. A backwards hit hard enough to bend the shaft is likely to have bent the motor mount as well. Sometimes the bends are slight enough to be hard to see unless you put it on a flat surface. But even that slight will tweak the car.
