Hotshots is the only hobby shop I have walked into, this state or any other, that has onroad kits and parts readily available. Almost every shop is full of rtr off-road vehicles as the largest group of RC drivers in general is, and always will be backyard bashers. They like being able to go outside and drive their cars in the street or yards. My point behind this is that if they hear of a track they can run their cars on they would be more inclined to show up and that's a positive, especially since they can't drive on the carpet track bc they had a piece of grass on their cars. We have already seen new faces in Hotshots since the clay has been put in. If you open an Rc car magazine you may see one onroad car and 10 off-road. Off-road is just where this hobby is in the USA. Manufacturers see this, why can't other people realize the same thing.

As for all the comments about off-road guys will be going outdoors in summer, I'd say 80%+ of the racers at hotshots do not race outdoors. It's often too easy to point fingers anywhere but the real problem, but to say they won't show up is the same as saying the onroad guys will. There is no gurantee, but as it is in this hobby in general, off-road is the money maker whether it's racing or bashing due to numbers. I would like to see more comments from the onroad group as well as the off-road with economical ideas to help the tracks rather then all this arguing. Instead of getting all of your panties in a wad come up with ideas to help Hotshots succeed no matter what track or tracks he has. Will was on track with all his reports stirring interest again. Brad didn't kill onroad, Hotshots didn't kill onroad, and the clay didn't kill onroad. Lack of support is why it is what it is period. For the longest time the off-road was the smaller group, but change the track and all of a sudden it's the larger. Making the change to clay was a good economically inclinded idea and now Hotshots as a business has started to level itself back out.

I'm not against onroad but the way it has been portrayed by some of these comments makes me glad I decided to put my TC back on the shelf. All this bickering can only be turning drivers of either genre off from coming to Hotshots.

So back to the Wednesday night survey.......
