If you have a vice available, you can squeeze aluminum nuts to serve as locknuts. It takes a couple of tries, and you'll probably ruin a few, but once you get the hang of it it works fine. I do this on old nylock nuts when the nylon locking portion no longer grips well. How's that for cheap?
