I have owned several different soldering irons over the past 24 years or so. All were relatively inexpensive ones so I don't have experience with any of the high end ones. But out of all that I've ever had, by far the best one is the current one I bought from Hobbyking-

It heats up quickly and works very well. I like the adjustable range which is perfect for rc use.
