I look. Is it possible there's a new normal and nobody has caught on yet? Sounds like I need to move up to a Power Lab 6. Still my 7 amps, that you guys are mocking, is the most anybody that I know and race with charges at. I just ordered 5 6500 SMC packs. I think that my chargers can charge @ 10amps. I'll try it out when the new packs arrive. It'll definitely save some time.
There are plenty of people charging at 2 and 3 C, most are stock racers, pros don't need to charge higher cuz if they want more they can boost or drop a wind. In blinky classes voltage is everything, charging at a higher amp will increase performance. Myself I run a couple blinky classes, my charger only does 6 amps, I am getting a new/used charger capable of 15 amp, I plan to start charging all my packs at 2c. Nobody was mocking your 7 amps, you just stated that you thought 7 amps was being aggresive and we disagreed. Now in the NIMH days 7 amps would have been aggressive. Lipo days that word takes on a whole different meaning. I do know some oval racers that charge at 3-5C, those oval guys are nuts, but in oval voltage is king, every little bit helps when you are searching for how to make your car a hundreth of a second faster per lap, if you can find a tenth of a second in oval everyone thinks your cheating. Do I personally think charging at 1c will hurt a pack, probably not, If Danny says 2-3c is best for his packs I am going to believe him, he has been in the battery game longer than most of us have been racing. Danny does his research and backs it up with his own controlled environment testing, he doesn't just buy packs and resell them, he knows his stuff.
