Default Sc10 steering servo install help

Hey, I have a sc10rs rtr and decided to to upgrade the steering servo, the local hobby shop recommended and sold me a Tactic tsx40 servo, and I have some questions. I took out the stock one, and realized the gear was larger on the new one so I couldn't use the stock arm, is this because it is not the correct servo I should be using? Also, it came with some white plastic arms, so I tried one of those and I couldn't get my ball joint to screw into it, as the hole was too small. I mocked up the stock arm with the servo installed, and it wouldn't fit as the top gear on the servo stuck out too far in comparison to the stock one, the arm was hitting the bulkhead, or top plate. I am very new to this hobby, so If this description makes any sense, is there something I'm missing or doing wrong? Or is this simply not the correct servo? Thank you
