rcruv: You shouldn't have to 'break-in' shocks. Just make sure they are smooth and have a LITTLE rebound.
acloco: Yes, if you put a rear tower in the front WITHOUT the new arms, you can put the small limiters (the ones you USED to use inside the shocks) under the screws on the tower. 1 or 2 should do it.
