Two classes are the key. 2wd and 4wd are different breeds, thus should be run separate. But, I have an idea, if you guys hear me out. When I helped get 8th scale GT started with the Texas SWCS series in 2009, the rules put in place then called for an open and a spec engine class that were to run separate. We never had enough that first year to run as two separate classes but what we did was run it LeMans style. We ran both classes together, scoring open and spec separate but we also had an overall class winner. The first couple of races, I won both the spec and overall class trophies. But, we as a group, talked about doing it this way and agreed before putting it into action. We had a lot of fun racing GT that year before attendance petered out by season end.
So, if we can get something organized and don't have enough to run separate, would anyone object to doing it LeMans-style until participation grows?
