redsand, are you running your XB8 with the C hub modification to increase the down travel? If not, the stock C hubs limit the front down travel quite a bit increasing on power steering by not letting the weight transfer to the rear end as quickly. With the modification, it increases the down travel thereby decreasing the amount of on power steering. It really depends on the type of track you drive on, if it's a high bite smooth track then the mod probably won't help you too much. If you drive on a bumpy loamy track then definitely do it and see.
