Not needed at all with the distances we are dealing with. A 6" piece of 10ga wire vs 12ga is about .25milliohm in resistance difference. lol It's a small enough difference where the extra weight of the wire probably makes more of a difference than the electrical savings. 10ga looks cool though.
Thanks RCM - I got differing opinions on what gauge to use but i think generally people came out on either 10 or 12 but no smaller than 12 - i bought some 12 ga as well (Deans Wet Noodle) and i am probably going to use that in the car and 10ga for making longer (2ft) charging leads to charge batteries - thanks!
