IMO, not really. I'm sure the pros or even the regular club racers that are at the track a few days a week may be able to feel that the gen2 is smoother. But for me, the gen2 just needed a little less curve to get the feel I like compared to the gen1.
If you have a HV servo, its worth it. You can set it for normal 6v bec or 7.4v bec.
If you have a savox TG servo... probably worth it, 7a bec.
If you can get $100 for your gen1 and put that towards the $200 gen2, that's something to consider. Once your gen1 fails I think its a little more than $100 for the upgrade so you would come out ahead if you sold a working gen1.
Randy, I know I saw it before but don't recall, $160 or something for the upgrade if you don't have the parts to repair a gen1 sent in for service?
