I have had the Futaba 3PL for a few months and have not experienced the problem you have mentioned, it has worked flawlessly.

Some things to consider:

1. What batteries are you using?
2. Are they still capable of holding a charge? (If rechargeable)

It could be possible that the voltage meter is faulty and giving you an incorrect reading. You could test your batteries charge on a multi-meter or even a LiPo checker.

The radio does not have an auto power-off feature, so if you leave your radio on the batteries will eventually drain. (Just saying, please don't take it the wrong way.)

Personally I only do this if I will not be using the radio for longer then a week period. It's a good habit to do anyway.

You could try contacting customer support and see if it falls under warranty.
