Not sure how you came to that conclusion but something wasn't done right. Less caster will always be more responsive no matter what the surface. Running off-road on carpet, I used to run 20° caster blocks with in-line axles on my old T4 so that it would be the most instantly-responsive vehicle possible. Running 25-30° of caster, the truck just refused to turn on-power because there was so much traction.
