I buy plain chromium steel balls. If I can't seem to get the diff right, I chuck all of the balls in it and start with brand new ones. I've tried the ceramic balls, and had success, but have had diffs that worked/felt just as good with the cheap balls so I have a hard time justifying the cost. $30 for a lifetime supply of Cr steel in 3/32" and 1/8" vs. $12 for 12-16 1/8" ceramic. I know lots of fast guys that swear by both.
Agree on that I recently spoke with the top driver of alien racing and he also uses steel because he can't justify the cost of ceramic. To each his own.
For the grease I used to have corally grease and moved for schumacher diff grease I use in my offroad cars
