well if you are running blinky 17.5 the fast motor to have is D3.5 with a 12.5mm rotor. As for batteries go its all about the lower IR that makes a good battery from what I can tell. torque is king in 17.5 blinky class because you can rip out of the corners.
Also make sure you run small wires for motor to esc like a 16ga or I even read 20ga.
